A new Fallout game: Fallout 76

A surprise by Bethesda, a new Fallout game coming soon!

The newest fallout we have has been released a couple years ago (Fallout 4), well, newest until now, now Bethesda surprised us by officially announcing Fallout 76, the next Fallout game. Bethesda discussed Fallout 76 at E3 2018.

What is Fallout 76?

Fallout 76 is a prequel to all of the previous Fallout games. Fallout 76 uses the Creation Engine, the same engine used to make Fallout 4.

An Online Survival Game?

Fallout 76 is "entirely online," but you'll still be able to play it solo. Bethesda states that the idea of this approach to open-world survival came four years ago. The game is described to be as "softcore," which means death doesn't equal loss of progression.

You can form a party with up to three other players. You can either login and automatically be inserted into a session with others upon booting up the game or join with your friends and play together.

Some classic mechanics will be changing to be viable for online play. For example, V.A.T.S will work in real time, while still allowing players to target specific enemy body parts.

World size?

Howard stated that Fallout 76 has a pretty large world, in fact, four times the size of Fallout 4's. There are six different regions to explore. Few of the confirmed areas are: West Virginia State Capitol, The Greenbrier, Woodburn Circle, New River Gorge Bridge, and Camden Park.

What are the options?

Like previous Fallout games, you will spend the majority of your time exploring and completing quests. Although in Fallout 76 there will be no AI human characters, as all of the surviving humans will be controlled by a player.

In Fallout 76, using an item called the Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform (CAMP), you can set up bases anywhere. Your CAMP is "mobile", which means it can be picked up and relocated, allowing you to move your base anywhere in the world.

Saving the world isn't the only option you got, you can also destroy it. If you have access to the nuclear launch codes, you are able to fire a nuke at any point on the map. It allows for the opportunity to discover rare weapons, gear, and items. But it also causes more powerful enemies to show up.

As of online part of the game, you have a lot of powerful choices you can make, even choosing who are the heroes and who are the villains.

Developers?

Bethesda Game Studios is at work on the game. Also, Bethesda Game Studios Austin--ex BattleCry Studios-- helped in fine-tuning the Creation Engine to support multiplayer functionality.

When will be the Beta?

Falout 76's beta will be available only to players which preorder the game. It will begin selecting participants from the players who pre-ordered in early October.

Release Date

Fallout 76 is being developed for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and is planned to be released on November 14, 2018.
