Cake Mania is back again and probably better then ever but also older than ever. Cakes are the sweetest thing on the world and there is a small bunch of people who can resist them and their sweetness, but this luxury is sometimes hard to get as the only the most brilliant in their field of work can master all the dishes that can be prepared and satisfy everybody’s sweet tooth. Jill Evans is certainly one of them and she takes us back to her beginnings where she entered the cake business for the first time. Jill is back to her high school days in the 1980’s where she has just finished her school and the huge number of choices and obligations are before her. But there is one obligation that she must complete and that is to deal with her grandma’s cake shop. Jill at first was wondering what could she do about her future carrier, then suddenly she had a little push from her grandpa, to fix up a prom cake and that’s exactly what she’ll do besides many other things. Jill needs to manage the cake shop but managing in this case means doing everything alone. She is the cook, the cashier, the waitress, the decorator, manager etc… Those who dare doing this will go through approximately 100 levels of something new and something that is totally different from the previous parts of the game. The game like always is still playable in the relaxed and the timed mode, depending on what you desire. Even though we are dealing with the sixth installment of the game you would think that most of the people who will play it would know by now how to play it, but there is always a couple of new fans that will appear especially when it comes to this release. Because of this the few beginning levels of the game are a bit too easy and won’t present any type of challenge for the players that have already dealt with the previous installments. The greatest and the most noticeable difference in this release unlike the previous ones is the fact that all of the cooking and managing is done in this single shop and nowhere else. But have no fear, because a possibility of getting bored is unlikely due to the games new structure. The game begins quite simple, as the only thing you need to do is make the cakes for the customers and from that you could conclude this won’t be a fun game… Well the fun is there believe me, and the first goal of the game is for Jill to earn a certain amount of money during the level (day) so it can end successfully. The process of cake creation is complicated enough on its own, but not only do your customers lose patience rather quickly, they each have distinct personalities whose behavior affects the gameplay considerably. The cake making can differ from a simple one layer creations to some wild imaginary a’ little bit of this a little bit of that and a whole bunch of the special stuff’ all in one creations which need some serious clicking for starters. Next thing you need to face is the various customers that are worse/better than ever because of their different personalities. For example cheerleaders tend to form groups, oil barons will supersede everyone (sometimes useful, sometimes a disaster), the 'dudes' will take anything, brides tend to be more impatient when they are near a business man and so forth, while the gypsy has the possibility to tell you all the orders in advance of the people in the cake shop. This all lead to introducing a new feature in the Cake Mania as we cannot leave the things like that if think in finishing the game. Now you can swap the customers how you want, that is you can swap places on which they are located to achieve better patience with the customers and if you can manage all of those things use those abilities of different customers in your advantage. Making the right cakes, watching the customers that are standing in lines and of course watching with whom they are standing is all a part of a strategy that you need to develop ad use in your benefit. It is also good to see that the game has kept interesting features such as the rush bonus, for which you have to do the same action three times in a row numerous times for it to be activated. This all leads the game in a new strategic direction and another thing that supports all of this so far are the different but very expensive upgrades available for purchasing. The cash inflow during the game is relatively done in very slow way so you have to be wise when it comes to spending it. There are different upgrades you can choose from and at different levels the upgrade you already obtained won’t have any impact on helping you, while the ones you need are just a click away from you. To be able to click on that upgrade you can either sell the current one or swap it for the one you need depending what is available and what is more profitable. The game offers a lot and surely you won’t regret trying because you won’t be able to hesitate and buying especially if you played some of the previous parts. The new Cake Mania has everything it needs to easily become one f the best TM challenges you’ll receive in this type of game.
