Behind the Reflection editor's review

When it comes to games the opinions are in general divided between the players as everybody has got his own taste for games and of course his own personal review about the game, which will be passed on Internet, on game sites or either from person to another. However, looking one person’s review is nothing to the whole group thinking, that is every player’s opinion that has played the game, which in the end gives the final result about some game. Now as far as I have read and seen this game is stamped upon on, while in the other corner of the game sites it has been praised with nothing but excellent grades. So what is the reality? The answer would probably be both, and I have come to that answer after playing the game myself and compared with other people’s opinions. So let’s get started like usually. The story of the game sounds kind of shallow, but for me it has one element that had me intrigued in the beginning to what is going to happen next. Mother and her son were walking the streets, when suddenly the cell phone of the mother has started to ring, after which she has answered it logically. During her conversation her son continued walking in search for some fun and playing. After stumbling on a mirror her son was dragged in it, and as soon the conversation has ended his mother has realized that her son is nowhere to be seen after what she has started to panic and look for him. An old woman has seen her son and she said to her that her son was probably located in the back of a truck that just left somewhere. After you have tracked down the truck to a haunted mansion you are soon explained that your son is being held captive inside a mirror, which is in fact a doorway to a parallel dimension. To only way of saving him is collecting parts from different locations through the mansion so you can reopen the portal and bring back your son. Now in genera like said the story isn’t something, but the whole fact about the parallel dimension got me interested and thinking maybe there will be scenes how it is there and some strange (reverse) things that we see in our world. This kept my imagination going to see what will happen in the game (it will be happy end of course, but the path to get there is what had me intrigued) and how the gameplay will follow it. Now, the gameplay is somewhat different to what most of the players is accustomed to. To start looking for items across the game you first need to find the master object in the game and then you can start your search for the items it needs you to find. The master object, after you have found it, gives you a list or better yet different pictures of items that need to be collected if you want to collect the master item. Of course there are multiple master objects in a scene so you will definitely find some items of another master object that you probably didn’t activate yet. Unfortunately this item can’t be picked up until the master object isn’t active, making you go back later again to search for items you have already found. There is one solution to this problem, which kind of is reduced to same thing as you backtracking, only in this way it is perhaps faster. You could go and activate all of the master objects that you need to find and then start your search for the items you need, which will result in the following way. The master item that is currently active will be shown to you and the items you have collected for it. The items that you have found for other master objects, but are not somewhere in the surroundings, will be automatically stored to your inventory for the later usage. If you get busy with clicking too much on the screen and miss most of the time (not finding an item that you need) you will be penalized for a short while for those miss-clicks with the screen being cracked. The game involves at certain times traditional hidden object scenes where a star appears on the screen and after clicking on it you will be given a set of twelve items that need to be found, and one of them is a part of the master object. The game offers also a large number of mini-games with different content variety. There will be probably some of the mini-games that you haven’t meet before if you are not a veteran of this genre, but the thing that is very interesting about the mini-games is the skip button. The button is designed so that it will charge itself even before you managed to finish the mini-game, giving you the option of constant mini-game skipping which is quite rarely seen. As for the game’s graphics, this is a part that left me totally confused and not knowing what to comment about it, because it is good and bad in the same time, so I’ll let you decide about that. The audio of the game is played on my favorite musical instrument, the piano, so the music was quite enjoyable for me through the most part of the game. All in all, a game with a theme that tells a strange story, not used that much at all, which makes it a good thing, and the game which requires some strategic thinking from the start, but the whole game evolves fast and ends pretty much very early giving it a very short playtime period. The demo will probably solve a lot of conflict if you have about this game and give you the final decision whether to buy this game or not.
