Everyone had their experience with magic or at least you thought it was magic. Many believe it could be a sing from heavens, but there are just some tricks or things that can’t be from God, it’s more magic, it’s more possible to perform. We all know a couple of so called “wizards” on TV shows and all over the world, and some of them are really good, but what happens when that good turns out to be real? In Brunhilda and the Dark Crystal, the same named heroine, Brunhilda was on her way to visit her aunt and do her a favor, but who could imagine that her visit would turn out to be saving a world she didn’t even knew that exists. A powerful wizard named Filemon appeared and told Brunhilda that she might be the one to rescue the whole magical realm from annihilation by discovering the reason what is sucking up all the magical energy from the magical world. Without any choice she decides to help the magical realm and she is always accompanied by a little demon to help her speed on telekinesis, alchemy, telepathy, and wizardry in no time. On her journey, Brunhilda will encounter some very odd magical creatures which you could have seen in some movies or cartoons, but also some very unusual creatures which personally I didn’t see ever, and they fit it the surroundings very good. The search for the source of the disappearance of the magic is based to searching for clues and items all around the game. Your item searches are grouped into quests, with each quest usually requiring you to find just a handful of items. Icons at the bottom of your screen will tell you what you're looking for and be marked with either a check mark when you've found them all, or an X to let you know that you need to search another room. When you find all the items you need you are given a note that you can come back or proceed to the next area. When collecting all the necessary items you deliver them to whoever requested them, which is also the only flaw of the game. After you finish up delivering the items almost every time you will hear, “O, there is another thing I forgot to mention” (or something like that), which means searching again on the same places where you already looked for, with that person or another. There will be some backtracking in the game and even if you spotted an item sometimes in the game you couldn’t take it as it wasn’t on your list. Only items you are given to find can be collected. So whether someone needs ingredients for a magic potion or some cheese to feed their kids, you'll need to find it all for them. There's also a hint system that recharges fairly quickly, so it's pretty tough to get stuck in the game. As sad on the beginning you won't be just collecting items, hocus-pocus here and there will come up in a form of a mini-games. There are 4 different mini games like 4 different ways to learn magic. On the beginning making potions or saying magical spells is quite easy. The game play doesn’t change but the difficulty enhances quite a bit… Skipping them is always an option but as it shortens the length of the game I don’t see the point. As for the length of the game, usually HOG’s last from 2-3 hours but this has at least about two additional hours in it. Comprised of 10 different chapters, each lasting anywhere from 30-45 minutes it gives you the opportunity to explore all the beautiful graphics of the game with the most exceptional graphics in the background and engaging game play. Certainly with a beautiful story, fabulous graphics and mini-games that refresh the game content all the time this game must be played at least as a demo by every HOG fan, to see what kind of mysteries it offers.
