SheepArcade editor's review: This is an addictive, engrossing and fun modern version of the traditional Solitaire. An interesting game with a lot of amusing twists and tweaks, this game developed by Subsoap, is a classic golf-style card game. A magical storyline keeps the player glued to the game. The faeries of a mystical land have all been captured and it is upon you to rescue them by playing cards. The main object is to removing piles of cards from the screen. Each level has a total of nine hands and you would need to meet a certain goal before progressing on to the next level. These range from completing several hands with a perfect rating to earning a certain amount of money. Each hand is composed of rows and/or groups of cards and the card at the bottom of the screen is the one being played with and hence is turned up. There are quite a few obstacles packed in to the game to make the game-play more challenging. You would occasionally encounter stacks of frozen cards, rows of cards ensnared by vines and the like. The game also tests your strategic skills as making large combos and deciding whether your current and future combos will be better served by creating access to known or unknown entities change the entire gaming experience. In between levels you can visit faerie land to purchase power-ups with the money you collect. These include multiple undos, more cards being turned over at the start of each hand, and more gold at the end of each hand. From here you can also access your pets. Removing certain cards rewards you with eggs, which you can hatch later to produce pets. These pets keep gaining experience points and eventually transforms into a magical creature. You would have fun collecting all the 32 pets!! There is a challenge mode which has only one unlock able achievement and interesting objectives. The Adventure mode has a total of 18 unlock able achievements. An addictive game with pleasant visuals and different card setups, Faerie Solitaire redefines traditional card games. |
