SheepArcade editor's review: This is a hybrid of both Build-a Lot 2 and the popular game of monopoly. The real estate management board game has been an eternal favorite and it has now been adapted for a compelling and highly addictive PC game. You can get real busy with drafting blueprints for buildings, employing workers to construct them, ordering materials, buying empty lots to effect good bargains. Upgrading your buildings to boost up the revenue flow from them is also a great way to keep your cash boxes jingling. Right from the mundane streets of Baltic Ave., to the semi urban neighborhoods of Illinois Ave., to the busy and crowded Boardwalk, all of them can make use of your magic touch and get transformed into a real estate jungle. Anything that adds value to the neighborhood like a park, utilities, and a cinema can be constructed with an abundant supply of resources. The more buildings you own, the higher is your monthly income. It is fun to play with the familiar Water Works and the Utility Co and trying to own these public utilities so that whenever an opponent has a water or electricity problem, you can earn money. Getting surprise messages via the chance cards are also pretty much enjoyable. The game offers two modes: campaign and free mode. The latter is just without the run against time. Each level has goals which are challenging and it is just too compelling a game to resist. The application of strategies, trying to beat your opponents to own attractive streets and getting into a construction frenzy are just perfect to keep you engrossed for hours. |
