Its people have lost their housing and businesses, and are defenseless against the coming rainy season. The royal architect has designed new buildings to be constructed on the islands, and the King has assigned you the job of turning these plans into reality. As with many casual city builders, Royal Envoy isn't really about winning or losing. It's simply about building towns.The action takes place on a magical chain of islands. However, don't let that fool you into thinking this is a calm, relaxing experience. The speedy nature of the game's activities combines with a devilishly unforgiving gold star timer to ensure that you will almost always be on the edge of your seat with eyes darting around the screen looking for the next building or task on which to click. While progressing through the game, the player unlocks new types of buildings. The market building offers another way for the player to earn cash. If you need more building materials, build a sawmill and workers supply you with the necessary resources. There are also various story elements that will interrupt your mission in Islandshire and take you on exciting adventures. Pirates will attack and kidnap you. There will be an incomplete map leading to buried treasure. There will be mysterious uncharted islands. And there's that hot-air balloon as well. You will also meet many interesting characters along the way, from the nerdy architect Cedric to the fearsome leader of the pirates (who seems to be a 12-year old girl). And there's the King who is more worried about his statues and shoes than the welfare of his people. Royal Envoy is very well designed and developed, with many elements that make it stand out from other town-building and time management games. It is a great blend of both strategic gameplay and an exciting story to be experienced, and will guarantee hours of fun.
