Soccer Cup Solitaire editor's review

FIFA World Cup is something that happens every four years, and represents a spectacular event in the world. Every nation from the world fights to qualify into the playoffs and get as far it can to earn respect, money and points. But besides football there were a lot of attempts to cash in the FIFA championship as best as they could. Probably the most sold item was the Vuvuzela. Everybody was trying to cash in FIFA as they could, and with this game it is the same. Soccer Cup Solitaire is a mix of mahjong, solitaire and soccer, creating an interesting and addictive game. You select a team with which you want to play with and the Cup begins. The game is played in a very simple way. You must match two cards of the same rank. The group stage must first be battled through, and then it’s into the knockout stages leading up to the big final. Rather than playing soccer, however, each match is decided by matching pairs of playing cards. The point of the game is to clear the cards on the boards, because you get points for every pair removed. As this game is acting like a football match there needs to be goals in the game. To give a goal to the opponents you must collect enough points in the game. 4500 points are required for you to give a goal. But you will start noticing that it’s pretty hard to collect that number of points for more than one or two goals. There is a way for you to do it in a much faster way. Chains are the bonus points for you to earn here. You can create a chain by finding the same rank of cards you already found or finding the next higher rank or lower rank, for example if you have two nines to continue the chain you must get two eights or two tens, or again find two nines. You also get bonus points when you make a pair of two cards of the same rank and same color, like two nines, one hearts one diamonds. The greatest bonus comes with finding cards of the same rank and same suite. Finally, you can gain and lose points and even goals through event cards, which are turned over in the deck. Event cards are the only way that the opposing team can score against you. Another kind of cards that you will find on the board is the bonus cards and they will help you in many ways. Here are some of them: Restores-an extra flip of the deck, Shuffles-all the cards remaining are gathered up and dealt back down, Retries-if you have bad luck with the other team scoring a lot, you can start the whole level over, Undo’s-the name says it all and Wild Cards-which sit in the lower right hand corner and can be used at any time to match cards on the board. It's all been cleverly thought out and really gives the game a lot of personality. There's even a commentator who will give feedback every now and again on how the match is progressing, shouting and raving every time a goal is scored. It's all been cleverly thought out and really gives the game a lot of personality. Soccer Cup Solitaire is rather addictive and you'll most likely be unable to tear yourself away until an entire tournament play through is complete. The game has 54 levels you need to pass. There are three matches in the group stage and every match has 6 levels, and in the elimination stage there are 4 matches, and every match has 9 levels. As the gameplay is pretty simple it is opened for players of all ages. Kids will enjoy this game but also the more adult as it is adapted to almost everyone. There are only a couple of things that could bother you with the game. One of the things is that the cards are probably spread too much. There will be situations when you won’t be able to notice the card as it is hidden by the interface. With a couple of other bugs this doesn’t represent such an issue, as the game provides in the interface the information about how many matches are left. One of the greater things about this game is that the people who like it and couldn’t get enough of it will discover it is very re-playable. This option is very welcome, especially when you have a game from which you can get pretty addicted. The games graphics is nothing special to talk about, because of its genre, but you will be surprised by the sound of the game, mostly in a positive way. The only thing that could bother you with the sound is the commentator. He can get a bit nasty sometimes, if you aren’t playing the game expects of you to play. All in all you have a nice combination of genres you can try out through the one hour demo, and see what kind of magic lies behind this game.
