SheepArcade editor's review: A nice new addition to the match 3 games genre, Sea Journey by DivoGames is challenging and pleasant. A puzzle quest where you battle against the pirates and explore the depths of the ocean in search of treasure. Among the puzzle games developed in recent times, this one has an intriguing storyline with the right mix of tactical gameplay. You play a young captain who is a lowly merchant equipped with a small, weak merchant's vessel. But a series of pirate attacks and a message from from his father, who is a pirate, change his course of life. He decides to set out on a journey into the sea and visit islands of many kinds and win battles with strong opponents and win the treasure. Prior to every battle you can decide if you prefer to sail as merchant, guardian, corsair or spectre. The type of vessel you choose decides the course of the game as the guardian tends to be defensive, while the corsair uses more aggressive skills. The basic gameplay involves a grid filled with colored crystals, cannon shots, coins and scrolls. Your main objective is to form matches of three or more of a kind. Green, blue and red crystals can bestow special skills and matching four or five of the same kind, you earn an additional move. Depending on which kind of tiles you match you'll perform different actions in combat. Casual gamers would love this game as there is no set time to finish a level. You can visit the town to shop for upgrades-maybe a larger vessel which can improve the attack, durability, navigation or trade values of your ship. The game prompts you to think and use strategies at every point. Do you stock up blue gems for a spell, collect a few coins or experience scrolls for later, or just unleash the fury of the seven seas on the enemy and pick up the pieces later? There are endless possibilities of different strategies to win a battle and due to the various combinations available, Sea Journey is definitely replayable. The graphics are beautiful and flawless combined with a rhythmic beat as the background score.
