SheepArcade editor's review: A befitting sequel to Magna Cum Laude, Box Office Bust, developed by Team 17 (Worms) and published by Codemaster owned Funsta is a fun filled third person adventure game. There have been a long line of computer games in the Leisure Suit Larry titles and all have been equally popular. Our favorite hero Larry in this game is spending his vacation working on his uncle’s film studio as he tries to carve a niche for himself in Tinsel town. While working in the studio, Larry discovers that a competitor is all set to ruin the public image of his uncle’s studio. Now it is upon Larry to save the studio from losing its glamour and appeal. A fair and interesting mix of exploration, platforming, racing and puzzle-solving challenges greet players as they complete missions. The game is dotted with its popular hilarious dialogues and bombshell babes which captivate a casual gamer. Larry enjoys himself in this escapade and so do you with rich, colorful scenes and the enticing sparkle and glitter of Hollywood. Box Office Bust is basically a free flow adventure with numerous mini games packed in between. The mini games include the usual quick time events, some random simplistic third person shooting scenes or at times a bit of fisticuffs and more. The dialogue and the storyline of the game is gripping and apart from running errands for a few characters in the story and trying to unravel the black spot in the studio, you get to participate in Larry’s dream sequences with a Hollywood inspired twist on each one!! There are quite a few achievements in Box Office Bust which blend nicely into the game. Like the "Complete the game in less than 8 hours" motivates you to hunt and find collectibles as fast you can. There are still others related to the main story or mini games which add challenge to the overall game play. Another exciting fact when you play game is that it is a sandbox adventure. The game allows you to go anywhere you want in the movie studio, jack people’s rides, climb wherever you want or simply look around. There are innumerable attractions in the game like 9 buggy races and a handful of Seduction missions apart from the usual story missions which spice up and make it an enjoyable voyage. Far from kids games this game is a free all access pass to glitz, glamour, and gorgeous women of Tinsel town is sure to entice you while you are on your quest to unveil the mystery! |
