Nowadays HOG’s have come up with so many twists in the game, that each and every game has something specific and almost unique for itself. For example, mystery games wouldn’t be mysterious if you could access every clue just by clicking on object. In most cases a lot of clues, especially the ones crucial for the investigation, for example, will acquire terms to be fulfilled to unlock an item, like collecting all the cards, or a special key or just a code or something similar that you must find in a different area to be able to unlock the one you are into.
