The sleeping beauty. Everybody knows about the story of a kingdom with the princess who has been cursed by her evil godmother, to fall asleep, and never wake up. Luckily one of the good godmothers brought them hope, so that one day a handsome prince will come to break the curse, and she put the whole kingdom to sleep so it can revive once again with the sleeping beauty and live happily ever after. That all came true, except when the prince kissed the princes, but the princess didn't woke. A thousand years passed by since that day, and in our time now, the thrones that grow around the old castle is beginning to spread to the town and bring great danger over the city. A young detective is given the task of discovering what made those thrones grew so rapidly, and to try and stop them or the evacuation of the city is inevitable. You search through the castle for hidden object which you use again to assemble a needed tools to look out for other objects, or use it as a key to gain access to some rooms. There will be a lot of wandering to and each door and puzzle you work your way past opening up new areas to explore. Although there are 12 chapters to the story, game play is not exactly linear. It will be necessary to backtrack a lot and visit most places several times to find all the objects needed to move onwards. Briar Rose herself and the evil godmother are flitting around as well in non-corporeal forms, keeping tabs on you as you work your way towards a final resolution of this twisted fairy tale. When you find an area that interests you or and item, you will see a single spark, but when you came across a hidden objects you will see a series of sparkles, which can be very helpful. Your detective's journal keeps track of things that you've seen and places that you've been, which can be useful in later stages as you work your way deeper and deeper into both the castle and the mystery at the heart of the game. There is a very useful tool in this game, just underneath the hint timer, the Inspection tool. Click on the inspect icon and it will show you a snapshot of areas that need closer examination. However, using the hints from the Inspect icon causes the hint timer to lock for five minutes so you better watch out when will you use it... Through the game you tumble across a few puzzles and mini games, which you can skip, but it locks your hint tip for a several minutes. Anyway, as the description of the game says you will come across wonderful level of details, which reduces the possibility of getting bored by constant backtracking to the same places as you enjoy the beautiful details of the castle. So start playing the dark and real editions of out fairytale, and try to save the princess once and for all.
