Introduction:
When it comes to forming new games with new themes, the sources for that are becoming quite overloaded and therefore there aren’t any new types of themes that could really introduce the new style of game. The dark, terrifying and in some way mythical was always a theme for any type of game that could be played over and over again, as people simply love it. Let’s face it, people in general live a boring life, with a couple of excitements here and there in between, but most of the people seem to live every day over and over again without any major changes. There isn’t much that you can do about it, but the people that do live their lives every day with some new content are full of stories, adventures and experiences that can be hardly forgotten for the rest of your life. But what happens when you do forgot everything from your life just like that…?
Gameplay:
The heroine of our story has a problem that describes that situation but it is done in a very strange way. As the game begins you are thrown almost to an unknown situation and territory, as everything that you do know is that you were minding your business when you started to notice a shadow lurking around you. After you have stumbled and lost conscious you wake up, but inside of your mind without even a clue, how you got there or who you are for that matter. The only thing left for you then is to start the search for your lost memories, as you have been followed by the shadow and revealing its true identity is the only way of figuring out what is really happening to you. The shadow will be lurking in every memory that you have and you must banish it from them, to be able to confront it when the times comes for that in the real world. But the road to the real world is sealed with some kind of chains, which are preventing you from leaving to the real world. The solution to this problem is finding the soul stones that can be found all around your ‘head’. The problem lies in the memories that have been tormenting you for many years, as you have been repressing them so much, that it kind of isn’t surprising that they are probably starting to haunt you. To figure out everything you must start with your earliest childhood memories and work your way up to the day you have fallen and stumbled upon that rock. The first levels will be in a form of puzzles that need to be solved and are in a form of pictures. As you move on with your memories, you conscious seems to come back piece by piece but with the introduction of new form of unlocking the memories that lie in front of you. What I mean by this is that you will have to leave the standard adventure mode and enter a hidden objects game that will have your searching for items that you need to continue forward. That part of the game isn’t something that will have you worked up to the max as you would be probably accustomed with other HOG’s. If you aren’t a fan of HOG by any chance, or simply hate them from the bottom of your soul, this still should be a problem as the items that can be collected are literally server to you on a silver plate. If this doesn’t show as easy enough for any type of players, the hint system will definitely then do the rest of the job for you. The hint system shows you the location of the item you are searching for. In other circumstances, when you are in the story mode, if you can find your way through the game, the hint system will help you even with that, giving you directions to what needs to be next. If you get too much with the mini-games and the puzzles in the game, there is also a solution for this, as they are all skip-able, after the skip-meter is filled. The controls over the game are all set to the mouse and the clicking, as the mouse pointer is changing with the different areas in which you are located and different things with which you need to interact. If you do start walking in circles and not finding a way out of the situation that you are currently in, there might be some backtracking for you, as you have forgotten to pick-up one or two small details that are missing in the collection in the inventory that enables you to move forward.
Graphics and sound:
The thing that keeps this all together is the game’s graphics. There aren’t some special words that could describe the feeling of the beautiful graphics that this game has given to us. Each of the locations with different periods of memories is a masterpiece for itself, leaving you to enjoy from one scene to another. The sound of the game is pretty thin, as there isn’t much of it, until the end of the game. Even the scenes in between are all text based, which doesn’t really matter that much in this type of game. Depending on how do you like to play your games; the duration can go from 2-3 hours, as taking all of the features and facts into consideration about the game, the game is pretty easy and therefore a bit shorter then you are probably accustomed too.
