The famous archeologist is back again. In the fourth sequel to the Samantha Swift series, she doesn’t show any signs of slowing down any time soon. This time, she is still searching something very important and one of the greatest myths that will be around probably to the end of time, The Fountain of Youth. Her adversaries, the amusingly named Payne and Malice, do their best to thwart her quest, but to stop Samantha it takes much more than them, especially with the great number of obstacles that she must get through like exploring caves, swamps, and tombs. When you start searching for items through the game you will notice there are to phases to the search for the items. The first one is the green list of items that needs to be found. Here you will have to interact with the items in the background to find the items you need. By that, I mean moving a specific item from its place to discover the item you are searching for underneath it or behind it. The other list when done with the green list is the blue list. You will be searching for these items in the same area as the green list, but in a different way. These items require an item to be used in some sort to be found and collected. Those items that you will be using are mostly some kind of tool you need to uncover those items like a shovel. You will find some very simple examples like this, one while in other occasions you will need to stop and think through to figure out what you need. Instead of telling you what items you are searching for, it gives them some ancient nicknames making it very hard to decipher what it is about. Luckily the use of scanner is there to help you find out what item you are searching for, by showing his silhouette. But every shortcut has its own price! There are lots achievements to win in the game, and most of them are easily won just by playing the game, but there are achievements only won through strict gameplay like no usage of scanner, hints, and searching in certain time limit. In addition to the blue, green, and disguised objects, you'll also be hunting for the two swift birds and one hidden lightning bolt in each area. If you collect enough of those birds you will unlock additional Unlimited Seek & Find mode, for the unlimited search for all of the items, but with the clock ticking making you search faster and giving you enough pressure to challenge you enough. You will definitely need a lot of hints for this mode, and the lightning bolt gives you a certain but large number of hints for you to use in the game as you need them. As much as I appreciate having recharging hints at my disposal, knowing that my help could run out gave Fountains of Fate a definite and welcome edge. Samantha besides the standard returning to the museum to deliver the items that she has found in the game, will be also using those items to discover any trails that might lead her to the place where the water of eternal youth is hidden. Samantha will also have to work her way through more traditional brain teasers, like connecting pipes, assembling jigsaws, and guiding gems out of labyrinths. The rest of the game is just pure fun especially with the graphics that the game provides. Every single detail of the game is an artwork for itself, which is done in most beautiful way. Every single myth, legend or story written or whispered from generation to generation that lived to become a bit famous is integrated here and described in most amazing way with the details showing the full capabilities that this game has to offer. The game doesn’t stick too much to the recipe that made the original release so famous, but maybe that is a good thing as using it too much might have weakened its glory and influence on the rest of the sequels and only made them monotones. Try the game if you are a newbie to the game, but as for the ones who played the game, I’m sure that reading this review won’t be necessary at all, as they now what kind of game already lies in front of them.
