Discord Times is best described as a fantasy-themed RPG set in a medieval period embroiled in conflict and unrest.  In order to restore peace to the land and its people, you must command your army to disband and disarm those whose sought to bring war and suffering.  So get ready to embark on a quest of an epic proportion, as you must wield both power and magic to bring justice to those who disturb the peace of the land.

The game design of Discord Times accommodates both a RPG style game play with a turn-based battle interface to bring the action of the game to live.  As you move your army around the various towns, castles and locations, you must interact with various characters to receive quests, and the completion of the level is dependent on successfully fulfilling the requirements of those quests.  You’ll encounter many enemy forces, which you will have to defeat by recruiting and maintaining an army, with the added element of having to manage resources to keep your army loyal and fighting for you.

The atmosphere and mood of the game has that retro feel about it, but the action is smooth and free-flowing.  The contrast between real-time movement across the map and a turn-based combat system is rather interesting, but overall the game play is engaging and the plot of the levels are long and involved enough to keep the action rolling along.
