If you are into medieval times and all the historic things, people, battles and so on, this is the perfect, very attractive game to play. This game is all about magic and medieval times, so there is plenty to do and to have lots of fun. The basic thing is that your main goal is to defend the land from intruders, and how you'll do it, it will be only up to you, up to your choices, as you'll find yourself fighting against the worst evil there is ( goblins, trolls, demons,, bats, spiders...) across different land (wastelands, ice frontier, mountains, etc.). You’ll have to start with the tutorial, which is quite illustrated and is about 2 pages. You may land yourself a bit confused once you open it but don’t worry, you can get back the game by closing the manual page which you opened then you’ll see a box in the lower left – double click opens How to Play and click OK to get back to the game. When you start you’ll have to choose between five characters given to you – a Knight, a Prince, a Warrior, a Dwarf and a Necromancer. As you can guess, each one has different skills and whichever you chose will affect the way of your game and its outcome. Knights, as their names say it, defend the kingdom and guard it, so fighting for that piece of land. On the other hand Prince is good at rallying the people, Warrior not just fights but gets bonuses for attacking, you can use Dwarf to get the money in an easier way and faster, and Necromancer will get magic bonuses. Because of the choice you make amongst them, the outcome of the battle will be shown in your choice and also how far your kingdom will progress. You’ll be also given the possibility to choose percentages of 4 types of towns people – you0ll have merchants (who are a source of gold), clerics (as they represent some kind of safety, they will attract more people), builders (who will be used to build the castle) and of course soldiers (who’s job will be to defend realm by going into battles against horrible creatures as goblins, bats, and so on. As this game is played similar to real life situations, you’ll have to show the days as you play, and will have to manage all the people mentioned and things, you’ll have to think about the money (be careful how you can spend it, because you’ll use it for different things), you’ll have to think about builders – rotating them to different jobs, and use them for getting more gold, and more soldiers the better defense and their armor. Each class of people has its own task and so its own purpose and all of them get necessary resources you’ll use in the game. As mentioned, you’ll have to think about the money, because you’ll need money for example for soldiers to increase the defense and strengthen up your soldiers, and you’ll need a bit of it. There is a way to get more money for soldiers as you can get higher percentage of villagers up to 5%. You’ll be able to see how much you have progresses and what you can buy bonuses which will help you in the battles against enemies, but you will see when you buy something like this, your magic points will be lower but something else in your kingdom will get higher aspects. Considering the magic, you’ll find out many great things about it, for example you’ll be able to turn animals into people and use them in your kingdom, or you can get gold from lead or you can get potion which will help while building your castle. As you’ll need money for soldier’s equipment, like swords, helmets, axes, armor, you’ll need it also for potions already mentioned if you went to have better progress in your game. As this game is about fighting in the battles, you’ll find out that there are plenty of them, sometimes you’ll win and have great victory but at some point of time you can get into the battle you’ll lose resources, so you’ll have to think about the battle before you start it, have higher number of men, higher offense and defense and you’ll definitely win. Now this may lend you to think that more wins higher levels, but this isn’t the case. You’ll progress by venturing up the chain of areas on the map. You’ll find this game very addictive with lots of addictive elements and strategy which you’ll find amusing and it’s very original with is medieval concept.
