SheepArcade editor's review: Imperium Romanum, the long awaited sequel of the million seller "Glory of the Roman Empire", is set in the backdrop of the traditional Roman Empire. The basis of the game is definitely real time strategy and it belongs to the popular city building game genre. This Gold Edition of the game comes with plenty of new features and improvements to enhance the overall gaming experience. It comes with 16 new missions and 3 additional scenarios with a lot of new buildings, deities and larger maps. The main story involves various influential cities and events in the history of the Rome and helpful tutorials advise you about the way things work and what is required to be a leader of the people, protector of land and provider of peace. The game features a sandbox toy mode where you can just build the city of your dreams. You start off building some houses for your citizens, ensure food provisions are coming in from farms and mills, get an army together and defend yourself against any attacks. The local people have very basic needs and the construction options are also very limited. But as the game progresses and the wealth of the city improve, buildings would upgrade and you get multiple options to choose from. You also need to defend your homeland from impending enemy attacks by building up and properly directing your army. The campaigns are fun to play through and there is a lot to keep you busy for hours! |
