SheepArcade editor's review: In the addicting games era, this brand new city-building game from Lonely Troops, is challenging and has a simple interface. An amazing game with colorful graphics set in a Roman setting and engrossing gameplay, this one is truly a class of its own among the downloadable computer games. The game features a 24 level campaign, as well as a sandbox mode. Each level has three goals to be attained within a specified time frame. You play the ole of an architect in ancient Rome and Caesar; the ruling emperor supervises your work and provides pointers towards developing his empire. So be ready to put on your thinking caps as you go about constructing various buildings, ranging from different types of houses, like apartments or mansions, to public buildings like a hospital, a market or a library. As in real life you would need to stones, wood and workers to build these and you need to generate sufficient income to be able to purchase these resources. The houses yield rental income and the more expensive they are the more residents and the higher the income is. You can construct gardens around houses to add aesthetic value which in turn boosts up the rent. The goals in every level can be interestingly different ranging from achieving a definite level of commerce, religion, health care or culture in your city to having a minimum number of residents. You can also play the sandbox mode and construct customized cities. You can purchase new technology which helps the citizens’ progress and contributes to the overall development of the city. In the early days as in the start of the game you have a very basic civilization. As the levels advance, new blueprints for constructing a variety of buildings are available. The happiness goals are the ones that are most challenging and require a lot of strategic thinking to ascertain how many houses and gardens you'll need and the plan how to place your houses and services in order to achieve the minimum necessary satisfactory level. Romapolis is one of the best games to download and enjoy hours of engrossing gameplay. The graphics and background music are basic and are perfectly themed. A whole new exciting kingdom awaits you and it is upon you to step back in time and relive the magic of building the Roman Empire. |
