Burger Bustle editor's review

Managing a restaurant is something that most of time management fans have already got used to, with constant serving of the customers and ‘reading their thoughts’. That pretty much set a standard for cooking time management games, but this one decided to try something different. The special thing about this café is that it can relocate itself in a couple of places in the world including the outer space. You will be flipping burgers, preparing topiaries, fries, soft drinks, ice-creams, and a whole bunch of other things. You do all of this to keep your customers satisfied and to earn yourself a nice amount of cash to be able to proceed to the next level of the game. You will instantly notice that this isn’t a standard burger shop, if you have already played similar games. Through the whole game you will be controlling your employees and you will constantly be on the lookout for refilling supplies and to upgrade your offering of the food and the drinks. In most of the restaurant sim games you pretty much do the entire job by yourself, or in some of them you get some help by a single person more. The point of this game is the help you can get, and that you need all the time. The customers are not served at the tables. They come to the counter and order what they want. The orders differ, as you will get a single customer which orders a hamburger only for himself, but on the other hand a single customer will be ordering a couple of different burgers for his entire family, and every single one of them will need to be made separately. There's no way a single person will be able to cook up that entire order, hence the presence and importance of your employees. In this game number 3 is the key number in the game. Your burger joint may have up to 3 burger frying stations, up to 3 burger topping stations, up to 3 stations selling extras such as fries and drinks, as well as a packing counter. Every counter needs and employee, but employees cost money, and in this game money means everything. You get a couple of employees on the beginning of the game, but that’s just not enough. Luckily you can make your employees work on more counters by dragging and dropping them wherever you need them. The thing is that you will get slower production of the goods, and there for the customers won’t wait forever. Making them wait makes them unhappy, and that’s not something you want. So what to do? The only logical solution to this problem is balance and strategy. At each level, one of the level goals will be to earn a certain amount of cash in a set time. So you must watch out, what is the minimum of employees you need to maintain the level of happiness of the customers, and still maintain the cash flow into the cash register. While you play the game you will see the timer (time management game), but you don’t have to worry about losing a level and restarting when the clock hits zero. The game won’t end, but the timer has its function. If you finish the game on time, you will earn a gold or silver trophy, which will earn you an award. But the game is made to fool you, as it gives you all of these available upgrades on each level and so, if you don’t pay attention, you will use too much money to upgrade the wrong stations and find yourself taking too long to pass it. Luckily, there is a restart level option that makes it easy to try it over so that you can get that gold trophy! So the point is to balance between the upgrades, employees and the counters you need to make and sell different food and drink. You will have to adapt different strategy on every level as every level requires more of something else, like faster cooking and delivering, or it will need a bigger variety of the menu and so on… There is also a competitor award system which gives you points for speed records, and making your customers happy. When you beat a restaurant on the list you get a bonus in a form of coffee, which speeds up your employees, or candy which makes your customers happy. All in all a great time management game to play, and certainly won’t disappoint you especially as you unlock relax and survival mode. With about 70 levels to play, the game is certainly a fun manufacturer that will keep you interested for hours.
