Introduction:
When I started with this game and figuring out what type it is, the first thing I could think of is Farm Frenzy. In the following review you will see why if you have played the game, if not... Anyway this theme used for making this game is more than enough squeezed to its maximum and therefore leaves very little room for some new and original ideas. At first, the whole game structure started to remind me on Farm Frenzy but in a way I would like it to be, yet not. This may sound confusing but you will catch my drift.
Gameplay:
It all starts with Brooke, a girl on its way to visit her grandmother, but for multiple reasons. The main reason is the retirement of her grandmother from the family businesses and who is better suited to continue what grandma started then her high educated granddaughter who has more than enough new ideas to improve the business to a new level. The general idea of the game is quite simple and there are no special things that you need to know about the game after a couple of first levels. This might sound contradictory, but the fact is the game hasn’t provided the players with a suitable tutorial to explain the little things you need to know, which you will realize on the beginning levels of the game. After you get acquainted with the game type and the whole idea of plots, factories, planting, harvesting, production and building, you can start playing the game for real. The game has no modes to choose from in terms of timed or untimed, but the game goes along as the level of skills of the player who plays it. The beginning like with every game is pretty simple and doesn’t require some special strategies to be used to solve the levels. In total there are 45 levels you need to get through. The number of hours you need to complete the whole game depends on the fact how good you are with time management games, and how much you prefer to have the golden streak of trophies within the game. There are no penalties in the game, meaning you can’t fail a level, so you can play a level until it’s finished. If you approach the game in this game you might just hate before it begins as the levels, especially the beginner ones have golden times set from 5 – 8 minutes. You already figured out by now that there is a golden, silver, bronze and regular time to accomplish in the game, and of course each time holds its own rewards (cash and special). The goals of the game mainly consist of saving money, selling fruits, or products from fruits such as pie, jelly, and juice. This is done by planting fields of apples, apricots, grapes and strawberries on empty lots, which will then result in regular fruit produce. This become the beginning stage of production and earning cash in the game, as the fruits that are gain from harvesting are then sold or they are used to create juices, which depend on the type of fruits used to make it. Now here starts the complicated and fun part of the game. The beginner levels, like previously said won’t require that much thinking from you to figure what needs to be done to accomplish the goal, but later in the game the things change as the times become shorter and the orders more complicated. Everything goes around how well you manage the space (plots) you have on your disposal and the most efficient way you can think of, of obtaining the necessary products. Like said you need to take care of plants, trees, factories and takes a lot of your precious time, making it impossible to make it all alone and that is where the helping hand involves in the game. This help isn’t that cheap and the more you take the more money it costs so you need to learn how to balance the number of helpers and the quantity of the money at your disposal as the money is one of your main goals. The money buys workers, technicians and materials for your levels and building that you will build. Technicians will take care of bug infestations while workers will set up fields and construct factories as well as process fruits in the factories. Moreover workers will earn you experience tokens over time the more they work at factories. The tokens is something that you probably won’t be able to do without, as I early mentioned the orders for products during the gameplay will increase becoming more difficult and therefore harder to finish in gold time. The tokens you won can be used in three different ways; one of them reduces the time needed to produce the products in a factory, another will increase the selling price for the product, while the third one will produce more products simultaneously. You will learn through the game that the trick of finishing the game in gold time is managing the free space that you have, either by carefully planning ahead with according to the set conditions or adapting to the game as you go, which in the end can result in speeding too much money and can backfire on you if you aren’t careful.
Graphics and sound:
The graphical part of the game is not the thing that will impress you like the gameplay at all. This part of the game is made to be simple and basic as you will realize. This mostly goes for the user interface of the game, as there is no some special commands that you need to be aware of, expect the possibility of tearing down the buildings, if you don’t catch that option on time, as it will play significant role through the game. The sound of the game is the everlasting standard of the usual effect for the different actions. All in all a game very worthy of looking at, especially if you really love a good game, made to enjoy playing it, and not just looking at it. It is adaptable to everyone so feel free to test it and you won’t regret it.
