In nowadays genres, a few good games are released from time to time, because game manufactures are running out of ideas. So the next logical solution is to combine game genres into new kind of games. This happened with Pizza Chef 2, where a nice combination of Match 3 and Time Management is set without the genres interfering with each other. The story begins with Chris and her chef uncle with the last preparations for opening up a restaurant. The day before the opening Chris’s uncle disappears and she is left all alone to manage the restaurant and his opening, a task that Chris takes gladly. So your job begins, with the first customers the game starts and your cooking starts. The games screen is tiled in two parts. The left part is where the customers are sitting and ordering their meal, through some mind balloon technique and on the right side is the match 3 grid, where you drag and drop the ordered meals in the pre-activated fields in the grid. What I meant to say is that the grid is one big stove, and through match 3 and quick combos you are keeping the stove burning for the next meals. Back to the ones on the stove, to be able to serve the meals, which the customers requested, you must swap ingredients to make them match. When a match is made, tiles under those pieces are activated. Active tiles represent areas of your stove that are turned on. When a meal is completed it is served automatically, so you don’t have to worry about that. As from then you are always looking for the next meal so the burning fields won’t turn off, and another important thing a bonus BOMB. It light’s up a large part of the grid which can help you in quicker and easier matching. You'll start with a small pizza and proceed to a croissant, sandwiches, steak, poultry, kebab, etc… Because you are all alone and your uncle is running somewhere from people who are trying to steal his recipe for his incredible pizza, you’ll be receiving his help and tips through telephone calls. Between the levels you will have the opportunity to buy additional recipes for your store including very useful upgrades that will certainly come in handy. Because it also a match 3 game, you’ll find yourself in matching 4 or more which bring a whole row to light up, or if you find a lightning bolt match a tile with it, and you’ll have a cross of rows at your disposal. To be able to complete a level you must earn enough money in that level to continue, but as you continue to the next level the recipes are getting more complicated and the customers are getting more impatient. That’s where the upgrades come most handy. Normally you would serve them a cup of tea, but it loses on its effect with every level. That’s why you upgrade the tea, in two ways. One is taste which increases the number of hearts, and efficiency means the needed number of rows reduced to get a new cup. In the game there are also a nice number of mini-games like hidden object games and some puzzles which are mostly played in between the levels as bonus level to earn some extra coins. With of all this put together we have a nice game in which you will definitely enjoy yourself for a nice period of time.
