SheepArcade editor's review: The game retains all the elements of its predecessor but has some interesting new additions as well. In this sequel, you would mainly be setting up coffee shops unlike general restaurants in the original game. The interface, game-play and controls remain the same as Restaurant Empire. The story in the game follows Armand and his wife Delia as they return from their honeymoon and decide to open up a cafeteria serving coffee and desserts. There are a total of 16 campaign missions which test the strength of the restaurant chain as well as the marriage. It is upon you to hold both together and this can be a challenging task. You are in charge of setting up everything starting from the layout to deciding on the menu and kitchen staff. You have to carefully plan out the ambience of the eatery to the mood of the customers and their demands. The game offers an amazing variety and like other tycoon games is thoroughly enjoyable. There are about 600 different recipes to experiment with and fifteen categories of food, from main courses to pudding, and four nationalities e.g. American, French, Italian and German. Each recipe has different ingredient requirements and specifies which appliances need to be used. You can also buy new recipes with your earnings as well unlock some with a bit of research. You can choose to hire between chefs, captains (who take the orders and deliver the bill), servers, porters (a fancy name for “dish washer”), and receptionist. The customer satisfaction level and the overall success of your empire depend on the quality of staff you hire. As the game progresses, you can go about opening more shops to strengthen the chain and build your empire. Each location has its own variation on your recipes, prices and even cuisine offerings. There is an interesting new mini games that has been added in this sequel. You play a Match 3 game of matching three or more similar food items together as Armand plays host to his own television show. The graphics, character animations and elaborate dialogues are perfect and contribute towards the addictive game-play element. It is all about following your dream and creating a legacy in this wonderfully ingenious restaurant management game. |
