Virtual Families editor's review

This latest computer sim game featuring hidden puzzle games to solve, number of upgrades to collect it definetly belongs to addictive games list. This is one game that would make you return to your Virtual Families again and again. Virtual family would teach you how to take care of your own little family. The game play has two versions, full version and demo version, and a great pick for casual gamers. It's entirely up to you whether your family succeeds or fails. It is basically a human life simulation which requires the gamer to embrace a character. This character would move into your house and then choose a bride, perhaps someone of the same occupation as you are, with the help of a dating website and finally, you choose to have kids. Thereafter, you are responsible for keeping your family happy by taking care of their daily needs and desires. For this you might have to make them take shower, or drag them to the kitchen incase they are hungry. Apart from this, they can also sit and watch television or use the computer for surfing the net. Further, you can adopt pets, buy items and upgrade your home, etc. as well. The game is played from an isometric view. Sadly, the not so intelligent Artificial Intelligence would depress you. This point may be exemplified by this situation where the guy despite being hungry wouldn't eat when dragged to the kitchen although the fridge is fully stocked fridge with a variety of foods (including pricier organic goodies). That's very irritating to see him getting weaker without any reason. On the contrary, what's exciting about the game is its real time game play. So even if you turn off your computer, the events will continue to unfold in your home. So, if you don't pause the game, switch of and start again after a few days, don't be surprised to receive a message which reads that your dog passed away. Time passes by so quickly in this game. Some things which the game has to offer exclusively are ability to heal sick characters with medicines or calling a doctor, praising or scolding behavior with Black and White-like hands you click over the character and collect objects around the home, such as bugs, coins, leaves. Also, once you have finished accomplishing certain goals, you are entitled to collect more than 100 trophies. To summarize, the features which make the game playable are mainly, good choice of character combinations, its real time working, random events like puzzles and other mini games and collectible trophies. What makes the game not so happening amongst other in the league are Artificial Intelligence inconsistencies, unoriginal concept and the real time game play which can be irritating at times. Although the developers have tried their level best to copy most of the features from The Sims, the game has unfinished and offers limited effect that you have on the environment. The level of interaction is entirely up to you. The Sims-esque game would also frustrate with its lack of polish and innovation. Overall results of this game are satisfactory and worth a free download especially for the lovers of the computer sim computer games genre.
