You play the role of a writer in this game and you are taken to Edgar Allan Poe's haunted tales to find his murderer. It is upon you to avenge this famous writer's death and you collect clues, interrogate different people to know more about the killer. Midnight mysteries is a beautiful blend of hidden object games with the literary works of Poe's famous literary works. Each scene in the game has to be explored and the list of objects to be found would be named and occasionally some clues would point towards the hidden objects to be searched for. You would be collecting items for your inventory as well which can be used to solve adventure like puzzles in each scene. Mini games add to the overall fun and enjoyment in the game and consist of tasks like matching objects based on clues, rotating gears and dials, or figuring out the placement on an item on a grid by processions of elimination. The game is based on actual history and presents a compelling and engrossing ghost story. Earning hints as you spot black crows is a unique concept introduced in this game.
