The game is the latest addition to the hidden object game genre and is based on the movie with the same name. It is primarily about the disappearance of a patient from the hospital for the criminally insane. You play the role of Marshal Daniels who sets off for Shutter Island with his assistant Chuck to investigate the case. The game has an overall spooky feel but the plot at times fails to create a sense of mystery. The game basically involves finding objects which relate to the plot and what you need to do. The plot flows along and you keep on finding or spotting random objects amidst other random objects strewn across the scene. Once you find the items, you would need to place them on the highlighted circles on the screen. The game has some twists like finding numbers scribbled on the wall which add to the addiction of the game. The audio and visuals do a great job of creating a creepy environment in the game. At times the items are obscured from view with the onset of a fog or a flickering bulb.
