Among the new hidden object games, Forgotten Riddles introduced riddles that must be solved in order to know which items you were looking for. This sequel to Forgotten Riddles: The Mayan Princess, by Big Fish Games combines hidden object gameplay with the intriguing tale of fictional 19th century composer Francis von Amadeus. The Moonlight Opera House, where Francis lived and worked, has been abandoned for some time, but people in the neighborhood can still hear strains of lovely music and on some full moon nights can spot the silhouette of a figure in the balcony. Your task is to solve the mystery behind this haunted mansion. The objective of the game is to find all needed items by investigating various rooms such as the library, front gate, stage, and the mysterious composer's room. There are a series of musical notes at the bottom of the screen and clicking on each opens up a riddle which needs to be solved to find one object. You can take the help of the hint feature if you cannot find an item or simply move into another room. In the free hidden object games and puzzle genre, this version of Forgotten Ridles is a fresh perspective. The game has an added feature called the secret room puzzle where you take objects from the bottom panel and place it in its correct location. These objects change the scene and after you finish placing all the objects, the actual setting of the room is revealed. There are two modes of gameplay, the apprentice mode and the Archeologist mode. The former is a bit more relaxed and has a lot more hints than the latter.
