Sheeparcade exclusive review:

Let's face it HOG are something that is being released the moment you are reading this, and for something to be a masterpiece or as near to it, it takes some time to create a game that can be one of the most downloaded in that period. Sadly Lost Lagoon isn’t one of them; in fact we are dealing with a pretty standard HOG. The game play starts as the hot air balloon crashes on a deserted island and from the bump in your head you got amnesia and forget everything, including where you are. After you have woken up you find yourself in an unknown surroundings searching for any clue or reason why you are there and where you are? As the game begins you find by yourself a map for some island and presume it is for that island, so you start the search of the wild by that map in collecting the pieces that could bring back your memory. This involves visiting a few attractively drawn locations, such as a native hut, the beach, and the jungle path, and scouring them for a laundry list of items. Through you search for clues and items some of them will be left in your inventory so you can use them later when the game demands it from you, like the machete which without would be very difficult to go through the wild and the greenery that is on your way. Most of the items that you will be collecting are scrolls. This will become a little repetitive but the different levels with lovely background make sure it doesn’t get monotonous. While you will search for items by the standard point and click search, you will, like many of nowadays HOG’s, search for items based on the silhouettes. This can diminish the difficulty a bit but, a little help is always nice to have around, and the same goes for the hint system. You will definitely find a couple of items, or places you can’t find so you have to turn to the hint system that refills pretty fast, so you won’t have to worry about that. In the form of the mini-games a little series of brain puzzles are given throughout the game, but as the game is made in slight shorter period of time than normal you can’t enjoy a large number of them. If you are a experienced HOG player you can max out approximately 2h of the game, but for the ones that are more novice maybe 3h or more are guaranteed. To summary everything, we are dealing with a game that has a beautiful graphics on which they can be proud of, but that’s the only thing that separates it from any HOG. The items and clues seeking with a couple of misspellings are pretty normal in any game of this genre. The storyline is mentioned on the beginning and in the end, so not a plus that can be given to. If you like this type of game, and you pretty much played every HOG game on the market, there is always the demo to try this one too. If you like you can always buy it.
