Game description:
A holiday at last! Top New York journalist Michelle Deanfield seeks a break on an out-of-the-way island in the Caribbean. Fantastic beaches, crystal-clear water and the magic of Mayan legends hold the promise of a wonderful time. However, the director of the local museum suddenly disappears along with a precious Mayan casket. Mystery Stories: Island of Hope A long awaited vacation on an exotic island has turned into mysterious adventure for a reporter Michelle. A Mayan artifact has gone missing and she is the only one who could help find it. Looking for objects on various locations including undersea, indoor, nature scenes on the island like waterfall scene that are wonderfully done are one minor part of the game that will not leave you indifferent. Combining different types of the gameplay such as finding objects by a word, by a silhouette, by the sound like the frog or an owl to finding more than one of the same objects or using flashlight in a dark room to identify the wanted item is what is brilliantly done in this game and it gives a feeling that there are many games to play integrated into one. In some levels you need to combine items like film and the camera or solve riddles and also there is nice new feature which is speed tracing. That means that you are shown only one object from the list to find in thirty seconds after which it moves on to another one. There are three modes of the game: normal, relaxed and puzzle. There are twenty locations which you keep on visiting. Relax mode is as it says relaxing since you have a lot of time on your hand and no need to rush looking for the objects. In the puzzle mode every location is unlocked and it represents a puzzle you have to solve by finding thirty items. Many mini games between levels are optional but very nice to have.
