Sheeparcade exclusive review:

Visiting your grandmother besides being obligatory, was always a pleasure for me as every time I would find out something new about my families past and stories about my parents that could bring your to tears of joy. In our story the things are however different, as our siblings Tom and Sheryl were on their way to visit their grandmother but something was out of place unlike the previous times they have visited her. The whole room was a wreck and everything was tossed all over the place. They saw a weird shadow moving around the house corners, after which they ran to see what it is and saw a stranger running away from them. After they tried to capture the stranger running after him, before they knew it they were sucked in a magical realm, where their grandmother is probably held too. After seeing where they are, a group of goblins kidnaps Sheryl and hits Tom making him unconscious. After regaining consciousness Tom befriends a half-man, half-goat named Pan who agrees to help him in his quest to save his sister and grandma. Now Tom has to hurry to save his sister and his grandmother from the claws of evil creatures. The story is in fact told through the memoires of Tom as he recalls these intense moments of his life. The narration of the game is all told by Tom in the older version. That part of the game is pretty much flawless but on the other hand the other less important characters in the game are mostly text only dialogues and the images of characters and the complete scenes sometimes look like they have nothing that connects them to the other parts of the game. The Seawise Chronicles are mostly based on hidden object items, and this system uses every known way to keep the items really hidden and not easy to find. You will be searching for pieces of multiple items that need to be put together so you can use them, and as it usually is the items you find can only be used on a totally different location in the game. The game of course has an inventory system, but I really don’t know how to put it in words and describe the inventory system. The general idea of the inventory system is quite good, as you got a backpack with multiple pockets and the items are located in different pockets. This probably could come out a great inventory if similar items were collected in one pocket, others in another, etc… But a problem shows up because the content of the pockets must be constantly checked to be in sync with the game, and this can get a bit frustrating… There will be some quite interesting but sometimes exhausting searches for the acorns. You’ll be using a knife to search and take acorns so you can feed the squirrels. But more than once you’ll be having problems with locating the acorns. To solve this situation there are two ways. One of them is the hint system. We have to admit, the game has some issues with the location of the items, but fortunately the game developers were thinking on both sides, for the ones who want to be challenged in a way that there is only one approach to every situation and it takes time to figure it out, and the ones which can’t wait or get tired of looking, simply use the hint system. The hint system is probably one of the fastest you’ll encounter. The recharging time is about 15 seconds, so there won’t be any long waiting periods if you don’t want to search the solution yourself. Besides some old fashioned hidden object search you will encounter a rather difficult challenge that every player must pass if he wishes to continue. In one moment of the game, your skills from other games are necessary especially the ones you are doing a lot of sneaking, as you will be doing just that. This part of the game can’t be skipped and there are not hints to help you around, so pretty much you are on your own. The game strongest and probably the best part, where most of the effort is put into is the graphics of the game. The graphics is full with luscious details of the surroundings with elf’s, dwarfs, goblins and other magical beings that you will meet through the game. The games story is not an everyday story because of its slight changes and to me it sounds like Hansel and Gretel combines with Little Red Riding Hood in a magical stuck in a magical realm. But it is your call and the demo will speak for itself.
