Sheeparcade exclusive review:
There are lots of different classifications when it comes to the games, and by the genres are the most used ones, but what about something so simple like cute or ugly? Airport Mania had its first appearance in the beginning of the second quarter of the 2008. The game made a big splash in that time and hit the foundations for the upcoming sequel, however the period of almost three years wasn’t expected to pass for its release, but still it was worth it. This is one of those games that are made for fun and management so a real story or story whatsoever could improve the whole ambient but we won’t know that as the games pretty much hasn’t got one. Basically what you have here is an airplane simulation with all of its duties towards a plane like taking care of the passengers, their luggage, making sure that the plane has enough fuel and other things but in a most strange, cartoonish way and of course cute in time management genre. The game goes pretty much like this: You have a plane that needs to be landed and prepared for the next ‘mission’. You will either take it to the gates, while some will have to be repaired, fueled or sent to the luggage station, and others are directed straight to the runways and ready for liftoff immediately. This indicates that there are different types of planes that you need to deal with, like passenger’s planes or cargo planes. But the one distinctive characteristic that the game has with its predecessor is the big round eyes of the planes and the distinctive different colors. Landing planes means you earn cash, however there is of course different level of cash or better yet ranks that are there to be your measure to how good you are. Landing planes is very easy, but landing planes and scoring some awesome combos that is a completely different story. Landing planes one after another is not that challenge and it will give you a middle ranking combo and some nice cash inflow. However the real challenge lies in the colors of the planes. When you land a single plane, for example a purple one, the gate will also turn purple which means that your next plane in case if being another purple one will give you a boost of cash that is a greater combo will appear, color bonus combo. But doing this is like previously said is far from being easy, because the ‘sky’ is full of different colored planes and combinations that are very diverse. But like in the other famous TM games where the customers have their hearts to measure their patience, so do the planes have a limited amount of patience to keep them buzzing around. Now the first point of the review and the first game impressions that you will have will make you believe this is a child’s game, but the second part should at least make you think different. The upgrade part will definitely convince you we are dealing with a cute, funny and very strategically minded game made for the ones: “Aaaa it looks cute, I’ll done this in a yippy and maybe find some challenge…” WRONG! This game is made for everyone, but if you feel like most of the players do, with the obligation of conquering the expert mode well I can really say good luck as you’ll need it. The upgrade department that the game has in between the levels is the true test for all strategists. Like the rest of the game they are very nice, but the importance lies in their functions that they do. You can purchase a station at which planes can be repainted in a different color, also a radar that tells you which colors you have to expect next along with a “plane wash station”, new plane licenses, etc… But all the different upgrades can’t be found on one place as the different airports offer different upgrades. North Pole, Monsterville, Tiki Taka Island, and even the Moon are all part of different locations you will visit throughout the game which there are 10. The game itself has about 100 levels that you need to deal with and believe me you won’t regret it even though the game has only one mode. During the game, getting the expert score is the final cause but won’t be done just as easily like getting it every time from the first try. The graphics is already mentioned as being cute and fun with some childish details, but that is what it made the game so good in the combination the core gameplay. Taking the game not so serious is the whole trick and really it worked!!!
