LG, the South Korean multinational electronics company, is reportedly planning to release its very first Windows Phone 8 Device. It is considered as a branch of the master plan of LG to sell over 75 million mobile devices within this year.

The news comes from the Korea Times, the oldest of the 3 English-language daily newspapers published in South Korea. The Daily paper caught one of the executives of LG talking about the plans of the firm to launch several mobile devices operating the Windows Phone 8 software by Microsoft. The paper also stated that this was a part of the firm’s plan to sell 75 million mobile devices within this year, a target that adds 20 million handsets to the sales numbers from 2012.

The senior executive of LG has been quoted “We are going to launch several new Optimus devices in 2013 and also working on few new smartphones that would run Windows Phone 8 by Microsoft”.

Although he didn’t reveal any specific release dates, the signs indicate that it will be launched at the MWC 2013 (Mobile World Congress).
