Ea, Ubisoft, and now Square. All the big names in gaming seem to be expanding to the OSG market. Last week Square revealed a new game, Sengoku Ixa, an OSG set in the Sengoku period of Japan. Square has partnered with Yahoo, and users with a Japanese Yahoo ID can sign up for the beta which starts on the 27th. Of particular interest is that the game should be available on the PS3 in addition to web browsers, which would make it the first OSG available on a console. Hopefully once the game is launched we’ll have more information, and hopefully it will be popular enough to inspire an English version, as watashi wa nihongo ga heta desu. |
