Nintendo has revealed early estimates for the launch of its new console, the Switch. During a financial briefing earlier today, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima has revealed that the company intends to ship 2 million units of its upcoming console, before this fiscal year is over at end of March, 2017.
Kimishima added that Nintendo expects to ship two million Switch units during the financial year ending March.
Of course, Shipping units doesn't translate to sales, so the number is more indicative of how many consoles Nintendo is aiming to have with retailers during its first month on sale.
President Kimishima says that the company won’t make loss by selling it; and that Nintendo also listening to what consumers expect from them when setting price.
Kimishima said that he believes consumers will understand what distinguishes the console from its other portable platform, the 3DS.
As previously unveiled, the Nintendo Switch is a home console and handheld hybrid and expected to launch in March 2017.
