The limited edition Pink Skin for the Mercy character has sold well, according to Blizzard, and raised almost 13 million dollars for breast cancer research. There was also a Pink Mercy T-shirt for sale, designed by community artist Vickisigh. Combined, the sales raised in total 12.7 million USD for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
But Blizzard did no stop there. They also donated 130,000 USD raised by Overwatch livestreams held during the event. This tops the total donation to just over 13 million USD.
"BCRF does critical work every single day to support women’s health and develop new research and strategies for preventing, treating, and curing breast cancer, and we’re proud to make this contribution to their efforts. ’m grateful to all of the Overwatch players around the world who made supporting such a good cause possible with their enthusiasm for the game and their generosity," Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime said.
