It seems like there are people who like the feeling of danger and the ones that can't simply avoid it however they try. Alex and Lisa are the star characters here and this is not the first time they have faced similar situations, but like I said similar, as this time it’s different. They are now sent in the past but in different time intervals making them land on the same place but a decade apart. Alex and Lisa have been thrown into different times (one is in 1979 and the other 1989) and your task is to get them both back to the future. There is no time machine or some invention that can help you here as it is strictly magic. Now each of them in their own time is set to find a way to solve the matter and return to the future as fast as they can. Because they don’t have a way to communicate between themselves, the one in the 1979 leaves messages and clues for the other to find in 1989. Their mission is to locate four tiles of a magical gateway, because that is the thing that got them into this whole mess. These items are spread on the island, and you need to find them as the end goal, but besides that you will be searching for different items that you need through the game, but also tasks like repairing bridges, drying out papers and chopping fire wood. This system is a bit different from the its predecessor, as when you start building the bridge you will be searching for the items and materials that you need, and you will do it mostly by remembering where you have seen it before on the island. Collecting unnecessary items is no more, and you will be doing a lot of collecting of parts of a single item that needs to be put together and used in some way depending on the situation and the item of course. You can randomly click if you want to, as there is no penalty for doing so. A lot of gameplay in the previous part was directed by the game itself, but now it’s different as the game asks of you more self-initiative and for that matter more thinking from your side. Because of this you will have to pay attention to the graphic details of the game and the surroundings of your character. The gameplay of the game is combined almost perfectly with the story, but every story can get tiresome if you don’t feel a slight change in the game. That’s why the game developers have added more than 50 different mini-games for you to play and to enhance the game experience even more. From lining up map templates to a fiendish rotation-based puzzle there’s commendable imagination on show in many of the game’s diversions. If you don’t feel like playing one of the mini-games or all of them, you can skip them every time without any penalty, but that is from my point of view totally unnecessary. Maybe you’ll find a couple of mini-games you may not like, but their diversity is too great to dislike them all. Accepting to finish all of the mini-games to their end will challenge you sometimes to your limits, as you will find in situations when you will be wondering around previous levels, recalling what you have done there, and what you have to do in that mini-game. To finish it up with the graphics of the game: this isn’t something to say WOOOWWWW when you see it, but it sticks to the level of details that is necessary for a HOG to be relatively successful as this release is. The game is improved in many ways from its predecessor, especially in the length of the game, which is much bigger now. The challenge is there, that is in the game, and you will feel challenged a lot of times during this game, just try it, you won’t regret.
