With spine-chilling discoveries, ominous challenges, and bloodcurdling visuals, this unhinging experience, along with its shocking conclusion, will leave you speechless.

Horror movies aren’t what they use to be sometimes, as they all changes as the times change. Zombies, vampires, werewolves are almost a part of our lives even though they don’t exist (at least we hope). Nowadays the only thing that could scare us for real are the worst things left to fear from and those are demons and everything that surrounds them. Something very similar is happening on this island as nothing seem to be right or wrong for that matter, it is all bad… The hero of our story is quite a hero to be called at the first place. He and his wife are treasure hunters and they were diving around that island searching anything valuable that they could cash in. They found something alright as when they stumbled upon an artifact a sudden accident happened and after regaining consciousness he found himself on the island separated from his wife. Mark thought the nearby town’s people could give him some clue or even maybe they have found her, but when he got there, there was no one to address to as everybody was missing. Angel was now his top priority, finding her and getting as far as they can from this retched island. So the gameplay starts and you must seek for hidden items that will help you in the search for your wife, but those items you will find won’t be even close to what you have imagined in finding. The searches are something that you have encountered already and nothing is there that will surprise you, however there are some items and some challenges that will need special attention and that’s where the handy journal of Mark comes into play. Mark notes throughout the game all the things that are relevant and so it helps you with these situations. Even though the game has an accent on being a horror game, you won’t find anything that intimidating that could really scare you off. There are some spooky scenes especially with the scene with the statues, but for me it was more of a mystical or ritual feeling instead of horror. This all seems quite pleasing, because what more can you expect from a game nowadays? Nice story, very nice ambient and the premise is always there to keep you on your toes, but the mistake that they made is one of the oldest tricks in the books for extending the gameplay. You will be collecting items from different places across the town to solve a puzzle for example. Solving that puzzle means advancing in the game, logically, but the item that you need can’t be found, or at least somewhere nearby where you have found the last one you picked up. Here is the good news, in this situations you just click on the hint button and it will direct you to the place you need to go to search for the item without giving you the exact location, which is kind a swell, but the bad news is that you will probably have to run across the whole town on the opposite side of the map for a single item, and then go back so you can continue your gameplay. Addition to this is the fact that the game has two mazes that separate the two main parts of the maps, and you get a nice time loss. But now everything is like this, this was the biggest flaw of the game. When you advance through the game you will be informed a bit about the current and past situations through a first-person narration. This also goes when you find some important hidden objects in the game. You have a primary interface where you see your current surroundings as well as any objects of interest (which sparkle if you're playing in casual mode). Clicking these objects will either zoom in closer for you to interact with, or launch a hidden object scene or puzzle. As for the game’s graphics it is easy on the eyes, with sharp, well-defined graphics and a good variety of scenes that range from a cruise ship run aground to a spooky mansion and a mysteriously abandoned town. As the game is the first of probably many, there will be much unanswered question left even when the game has ended, so it will leave enough space for you to still keep wondering what will happen in the next part of the game. It is not one of the games that is going to leave you breathless but you might just find some of the factors of the game worthy enough for you to become a fan of the series. Try the demo…
