World War I

The 1st of August 1914 saw the beginning of World War I. Humanity did not know any military conflicts similar to this one: the interests of dozens of countries got involved; for the first time tanks, aviation, dreadnaughts and chemical weapons were used in battle; warfare became really massive. This bloody madness lasted 4 long years and as a result of it 3 Empires disappeared from the world map: the Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian and Russian empires. The quantity of victims of World War I counted in dozens of millions and the consequences of this global confrontation can be felt even in the modern world...
