Sony Computer Entertainment has decided to release the initial information on Neocom, the PlayStation Vita tie-in app for the upcoming Dust 514 game. According to one of the posts on the official PlayStation Blog, the Neocom app would provide the players with the ability to interact with the game (Dust 514) while they are on the go. The features will allow actions like purchasing items and customizing their characters, on the go.
Cameron Payne, the CCP marketing director, stated that it would act as a companion application to the PlayStation 3 game. The application will bring all the commerce, customization and community features into the PSP Vita. You cannot engage in the direct gameplay via the PSP, but the players will be available to use almost all of the features, which the Neocom user interface offers the players within the main PS3 game. They will be able to make purchases through the market, interact with battles, and play around with their dropsuits and the vehicles. After that the players can save it and use it later on PS3. The players will also be able to view the entire massive galaxy map of EVE Online via Neocom.
While Dust 514 is all set to release an open beta later on this year, the subscribers of PlayStation plus will be able to get the closed beta later this month.
