The Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that they have sold 70 million PlayStation 3 units worldwide by 4th of November, 2012. They have reached the figure of 70 million just under 6 years after initially launching the platform back in 2006.
Sony Computer Entertainment also revealed that the Move motion controller for PlayStation had sold more than 15 million units around the world by November 2011. In addition, the sales of the software for PlayStation have reached 595 million units worldwide.
So According to these reports the sales figures of the Sony PlayStation 3 is only barely off the sales figures of Xbox 360. Last month Microsoft announced that they have sold more than 70 million Xbox 360 units worldwide.
