Blizzard announced HD version of the classic RTS StarCraft game today, called StarCraft: Remastered. The graphics are boosted to "4K ultra high definition" and the audio is upgraded too. There are new features such as matchmaking as well.
StarCraft: Remastered changes:
- Widescreen UHD support for 4K
- New illustrations to "enhance storytelling" in campaign missions
- "Advanced matchmaking"
- "Full connectivity" to Blizzard's online network
- Custom-made maps, cloud save for campaign progress, keybinds, and replays
- Eight new languages
"While these improvements will bring StarCraft to the modern era, gameplay and balance have been precisely preserved, for an experience that will feel identical to veteran players," Blizzard said.
StarCraft: Remastered wille be available for Windows PC and Mac and is expected to come out this summer. Pricing is not announced yet.
