The Use of iPhones Among U.S. Teens Hits 40%

Attracting teen users is a main part of the Apple's business strategy...

Gene Munster, an analyst of Piper Jaffray, the leading investment bank and asset management firm, has released the final report outlining the latest results of semi-annual survey he carried out on US teenagers. And the report reveals that the usage of iPhones and iPads is continuously going up among the group.

In the survey, where over 7,700 teenagers participated, 40% of them said that they are using an iPhone, showing a 6% increase from the 34% who stated they were using an iPhone at that time (6 Months ago).

"We believe that it is a good indication of the strength of the Apple iPhone among young customers that Apple could grow their market share among teenagers regardless of the fact of not rolling our any new products in between the two surveys we conducted on Spring and Fall 2012." Munster stated.

There's more good news for Apple. 62% of the teens who participated in the survey stated that they are planning to purchase an iPhone as their next mobile. The rumored "iPad mini" by Apple is seen as one of the reasons to draw teenagers to buy Apple products.

Munster stated that he found attracting teen users as a main part of the business strategy of Apple.
