There are a couple of games on the game market which are based on sim action, but very few are made the way that can satisfy the conditions of the casual gamers. Virtual City is definitely on of the rare games that fulfill all the demands that gamers ask of a sim construction city game. You are a new mayor of the town, and your job is to bring your city to prosperity and ensure its growth and happiness. As a mayor you are responsible for everything that happens in the city and you are the one to give the orders to fix whatever needs fixing, or if another part of the cities casual routines needs intervention like transporting goods with other cities, or recycling or distributing goods around the town, that is all controlled by you, that is the mayor. There are 50 levels in the game split in 5 cities, and every city has a “sandbox” level. In the sandbox level you create your own town from the scratch, creating buildings, roads, trees, absolutely everything by your imagination and the given options. The game itself is full of different objects. For example, like in real life, here too you must connect the main city parts and the rural areas. So you find a place that is suited for building a bus stop by the road. If there are obstacles, you can remove them with bulldozers, and then add the necessary bus stop. After that you add the number of buses needed, depending on the traffic of people there. Also through the game you must look out for the city’s residents, and their needs. With the residents, you must complete a couple of objectives like increasing the number of population with creating new homes and job openings for people. Then again you must think of your city and the environment. There must be at least a recycling plant, and of course enough green to “produce the air”. We mustn’t forget about the city in general. While the people are supplied with jobs, now it’s the time to collect the taxes, and secure the income for repairing city structures, creating new ones. Most of the funds come through supplying supermarkets, transporting goods, different kinds of shops, etc… This game is pretty good, and with the options it provides it definitely has thumbs up from most of the critics, which resulted to a great game. The games graphics is pretty solid, and with the tutorial for the first couple of levels, it shouldn’t give a big problem to the players.
